Hello!

My name is Lily-Sue, but my mummy calls me Munchkin (or 'Munch' for short!) I am 7 years old, and this is where my mummy will help me write all about all the fun things we do together. I hope you enjoy reading about the adventures of my mummy and me, Munchkin, with the occasional appearance from the siblings - Beastie and Plumlet.

Bopping aboard the LolliRoger!

"5 weeks isn't long, is it mummy? It's only like, about, 5 sleeps!"

Ahoy! Do you remember, a little while back, we told you all about a special event that was going on in London in preparation (and to build our excitement just a little more) for August 2014's LolliBop Festival. Well, as we are official LolliBloggers, we received a special invite to join the fun and games aboard the ship of fun as we donned our best Pirate & Princess costumes and went in hunt of golden treasure (of the chocolatey kind!)

We were promised an afternoon of fun and a taster of what was to come in August, and this is exactly what we got!

We set sail in the afternoon of Sunday, 6th July, 2014, climbing aboard our trusty vessel at London's Butlers Wharf.

I had in tow, my mummy stowaway whilst I was excited about smuggling her upon my first voyage on the water (first that I remember, anyway!) I was itching to jump aboard and to receive my first mission from the Chief Princess!

As we walked along the gangplank and reached the doors to our ship, we were greeted by the Chief Princess and her unusual choice of sidekick, a pirate! I pointed out to mummy at this point that the princess must be the pirate's unfortunate prisoner and would need to be rescued. However, on our approach, she started calling orders to us and was bossing the pirate around. I knew then that this pirate couldn't have been a very mean one!

"Find the Captain! He goes by the name of Captain No-Beard!"

So I had my first mission as a stowaway on the LolliRoger! I had to track down the apparently infamous Captain No-Beard. No further instructions, so off we went, remembering to grab a stray, forgotten sword from an unguarded barrel as we passed! Just in case!

We went off to explore the vessel!

On the top deck, I discovered evidence of what looked like burst balloons scattered all over the deck floor.

"Someone bad has been up here, mummy. They've been bursting all of the balloons!"

I was convinced it had to be the handywork of Captain No-Beard and his men, just as I turned to leave the deck, I was face-to-face (kind of!) with none other than the Captain of the LolliRoger! He instructed us to join him on the lower deck and await further instructions. I thought it best we do as he said!

They weren't the scariest of pirates really. I thought they might have us scrubbing dirty floors clean or something. But instead, we played games, danced to music and searched for chocolate gold!

This was my kind'a Pirate Ship!

The not so scary pirate then led us to the top deck. He didn't say why, but I figured the tasks hadn't been bad ones so far, so how bad could it be ...? As we stepped foot upon the strangely damp floor of the upper deck, it occurred to me. The balloon remains I had previously inspected scattered around the deck ... they weren't balloons ... They were WATER BOMBS!! The last stowaways must have jumped overboard to escape what was about to happen to us! Just as I was about to turn and make a dash for it down the stairs, I turned in time to see what looked like a million water bombs falling from the air. I couldn't escape it ... I was about to get ...

Those cheeky, pesky pirates!!!

I took myself off to the safety of the lower deck and joined my friends for some more sword fighting which helped me dry off!

I even found me some of the pirates' secret stash and decided to take my share and show those Stinky Swashbucklers who they were messing with!!!

After a bit more dancing, we were returned to the shore and released by the cheeky, blundering Captain No-Beard and his men. They were no match for us princesses!!

We had a wonderful time aboard the LolliRoger, and are now so much more excited about what is waiting for us at Hatfield House next month! Tickets are still available for the big event, taking place from the 15th-17th August, 2014. Information about tickets, admission, location and parking can be found at http://www.lollibopfestival.co.uk/
