Hello!

My name is Lily-Sue, but my mummy calls me Munchkin (or 'Munch' for short!) I am 7 years old, and this is where my mummy will help me write all about all the fun things we do together. I hope you enjoy reading about the adventures of my mummy and me, Munchkin, with the occasional appearance from the siblings - Beastie and Plumlet.

A Party fit for a Princess - Disney's Sofia the First

The little princess with BIG ambitions ...

If ever I needed an excuse to write an extremely girly post with a ridiculous amount of pink, then this would be it!

A couple of weeks ago, mummy told me she had a surprise for me. A secret that she had been holding onto for what felt like weeks! We had been invited to a special party in London to celebrate the upcoming return of the popular Disney Junior princess, Sofia the First! She said she didn't tell me until the day before the party as I would just be far too excited. I just don't know what she means ...? As if the news of the invitation wasn't enough - mummy then tells me that I can wear pretty, frilly, swirly girly 'fancy dress' too! It was suggested that we may like to attend wearing our favourite princess costumes! Well, that was it, I ran straight for my wardrobe to rummage through my few many dresses and decided on the one I would like to wear. Mummy told me I had to keep in mind that whatever I wore, I would have it on throughout our journey to the May Fair Hotel in London (and home again!) The excitement was almost too much!

I had an idea of what to expect from the day, or at least I thought I did. Today was all about celebrating the return of Disney's Sofia the First to our television screens. At Christmas, I watched the very popular Sofia the First - Once Upon a Princess, and I absolutely loved it! I loved it so much, I watched it over and over again, and still do! It is the success of this very debut that has made the brand new show happen! After all, this one off special has become the all time top rated show on Disney Junior in the UK!

And now, on Friday, 8th March, 2013, Disney's first little girl princess sees the launch of her own animated TV series, Sofia the First on Disney Junior. I can't tell you how excited I am! For those of you out there that may have missed this truly amazing show, Sofia the First stories are set in the storybook world of Enchancia, where young Sofia, starts out life as a regular girl. However, when her mother marries the king, she is whisked off to a glamorous, but sometimes confusing, castle world of royalty, pomp and new step-siblings, Amber and James. There is even an appearance by Fauna, Flora and Merryweather - the fairies from Sleeping Beauty! They are the headmistresses of Royal Prep, the academy that Sofia, along with other princes and princesses, attends. We watch as other vibrant characters are introduced and can enjoy appearances from some of the classic princesses, including Cinderella and Aurora.

So, back to the special day ...!

There I was, all dressed up like a Ballerina Princess, having my coat taken for me and being shown through to the most magical room I have ever seen! It was a Princess fantasy world! I was met at the door by a friendly prince who handed me a pretty wand and placed a princess tiara on my head as a butler knelt down next to me with a silver tray full of princess cake pops! I was totally overwhelmed!

The room was lined with exciting things to do! First of all, I made my way over to the Art & Craft area where the children appeared to be making pretty wands with all sorts of glittery materials. I wanted one of those! As I picked up a large golden star from the table, ready to start coating it in glitter and sparkles, a voice spoke over my shoulder asking if I wanted some help ...

It was Lloyd from Disney Junior's Art Attack!!

As I was twirling around with my new sparkly wand, a beautiful, pretty princess came over to talk to me. We talked about what it was like to be a princess, and about all of the princess like things we love to do. I liked her - she was a real princess, and she had lovely red hair - just like Ariel! After chatting for a while, she said that I would be the perfect pupil for her Princess School!! Here, I sat down with the real princess and all the other little princesses in a big circle as we were taught all the things we needed to know about being proper princesses!

I then went on to have my face painted by one of the four extremely talented artists there. I asked for pink butterflies and flowers, and that is exactly what I got ...

After admiring myself in the mirror ... a lot ... and dancing around with my newly acquired hot pink feather boa, we were invited through to the special screening room. It was very posh in there. Comfy leather seats which didn't fold up and swallow me up if I sat too far back! We were directed to the front row - right in the middle!! Then we were treated to a medley of Disney Junior's finest, most popular shows.

Henry Hugglemonster is also very new to our TV screens, and since it began just a few weeks ago, I have been a huge fan. Even Beastie Boo loves it, but then it is full of funny little monsters, so I am not really surprised!

This really was the most magical day EVER!

Every single person that was involved in the day deserves a huge amount of recognition for its success. It was organised perfectly and everyone was just so so friendly! I really did feel like a real princess for the day! Especially with the bag of goodies we were given before we left to go home. A beautiful Sofia bag full of Disney gifts. They even let me take a present home for Beastie too! I proudly carried my bag all the way home on the tube and the train!

I think I was noticed by every single person we passed on the way home. Everyone kept smiling at me, many tilted their head to the side as they smiled. Some even stopped mummy just to tell her how beautiful I looked, and other by-passed mummy and spoke directly to me! Thank you so very much, Disney, for such a wonderful day! I already have the new series of Sofia the First set to record so I can watch it over and over!

Sofia the First is coming to our TV screens on Friday, 8th March at 5.25pm on Disney Junior, with a new episode coming at the same time each week.
