My name is Lily-Sue, but my mummy calls me Munchkin (or 'Munch' for short!) I am 8 years old, and this is where my mummy will help me write all about all the fun things we do together. I hope you enjoy reading about the adventures of my mummy and me, Munchkin, with the occasional appearance from the siblings - Beastie and Plumlet.

Andy and Mike's ... Big Box of Bananas!

New UK Tour! 2nd - 30th June, 2012

Andy and Mike’s … Big Box of Bananas is back on the road this June! And you are invited to their ‘fun pad’ – there is room for everyone and once there you can expect music, laughs, wigs, eye-patches, boats, planes, suspense and a BIG BOX OF BANANAS!

BAFTA-nominated CBeebies’ presenter Andy Day brings his much-loved humour to this high-energy, children’s comedy.  He and Mike James, childhood friends and comedy partners, have created a fast-paced show full of slapstick, songs and stories. With imaginative writing and great gags, Andy and Mike’s… Big Box of Bananas is a treat for the whole family.

When a magical and mysterious box appears in Andy and Mike’s ‘fun pad’, try as they might they can’t open it. The boys must journey the skies and seas to try to find the password to the box but they need help – they’ll never manage it without an audience of house sitters to give them a hand!

Join them on a colourful journey taking in some very glamorous, all-singing, all-dancing air stewards, some confused pirates and some amazing musical sea life! You’ll also get to meet Poppy the Pet Porpoise, Andy’s Mum and the mysterious man in the TV and to help reveal the mystery of the Big Magical Box.

Andy and Mike’s … Big Box of Bananas was a sell-out success and critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Festival 2009 and has enjoyed several sell-out tours since then. The show is suitable for adventurers of any generation, but the show is most suitable for house-sitters aged four to eleven and their grown-ups.

Andy Day is well known to pre-schoolers and primary school children, as well as their carers. He has been a presenter on CBeebies since 2009 and was recently one of the star line-up on the hugely successful CBeebies Live! arena tour (April 2012). His CBeebies’ show Andy’s Wild Adventures has just won Best Children’s TV Programme at the recent Freesat Awards. Mike James and Andy Day have been friends since they were 11 years old, and have worked on a diverse range of projects from playing ugly sisters together in panto through to hotel work as glass collectors! Their new show Tick Tock Time Machine starts its 2012 tour at the Pleasance as part of the Edinburgh Festival.

The show’s co-creator and director is Iain Lauchlan who has a towering pedigree in creating quality children’s entertainment both on stage and TV, including The Tweenies and The Fun Song Factory.

Bettacare Comfy Sleep Pregnancy Cushion Review

At 3.12am on 22nd September, 2009, my life changed in a way I could never have imagined. After 7 months of daily sickness (I refused to refer to it as 'Morning Sickness' on account that it lasted ALL day ... EVERY day!), 2 months of relentless heartburn and weeks of waddling around wondering if my hips and 4' 11" frame would last the course, and following over 20 hours of complex labour and an Urgent Caesarian Section, our amazing Munchkin was finally brought into the world.

It was the most surreal and magical moment of my life!

Within hours of our beautiful baby girl opening her eyes for the first time, I publicly admitted that I couldn't wait to go through it all again! Munchkin's dad went a distinct shade of pale, Munchkin's nanna laughed and rolled her eyes at me, telling me I was 'bonkers' whilst her grandad couldn't take his eyes off of her for long enough to voice an opinion!

On 23rd October, 2011, I stared at 2 little lines on a pregnancy test, and was overcome with a whole whirlwind of emotions. Then, 8 weeks later, on 16th December, 2011, I was finally free to shout our exciting news from the rooftops and make our announcement to the world!

Although this second pregnancy has been easier in a number of ways than our first, with the sickness lasting for just a few weeks and my energy levels, until recently, being considerably higher, I suffer from one problem. A problem that the midwife warns I'll probably experience whenever I fall pregnant, and one which will increase in its intensity each time. That problem is hip, back and leg pain. Being so short in height, the problem starts as an ache at the end of the day during the early weeks and develops over the months into a pain that restricts my movement terribly, all day, every day, throughout the 2nd and 3rd Trimesters.

Night time has always been the worst time, especially as I gradually increase in size. Sandwiched between two long pregnancy cushions, one of which would double up as a pillow too to raise my head more in an attempt to ease the pains in my shoulders, it was starting to become more and more common for me to wake several times in the night in a great deal of pain and unable to move without help. This arrangement of cushions was starting to lose all of its positive effects! I needed something more to balance my heavy bump with the rest of my body!

When I was contacted by Hello Baby, the online shop, and asked if I would like to test and review The Bettacare Comfy Sleep Pregnancy Cushion (Vanilla), I thought this could be a perfect product to try out right now! This is a wedge shaped cushion designed to sit underneath the 'Bump' when sleeping on your side.

The Bettacare Comfy Sleep is a soft and supportive cushion and gives a comfortable night's sleep during pregnancy. This well designed item boasts the following great features:

  • Soft and supportive cushion aids peaceful sleep in pregnancy.
  • Ergonomically designed wedge shape takes weight off the tummy and relieves discomfort and backache in bed.
  • Adaptable for a variety of other uses, including back support for home and car and also supports baby when sleeping to prevent rolling.
  • Very useful to raise baby's head if baby is suffering from a cold, colic or ear infection.
  • Removable machine washable cover with replacements available.

The pillow is very soft to touch and contains no zips, buttons or uncomfortable seams. The entire cushion is extremely smooth and provides a great amount of support throughout the night. It wins over my previous 'set up' which was beginning to get very warm in the night, and it was becoming more and more difficult to get out of bed during the night. The Bettacare Comfy Sleep Pregnancy Cushion is much more compact and lightweight, therefore making it so much easier to move to where I need it as I make adjustments during my much required sleep time! I would recommend this to any pregnant mums-to-be, as I can now state with confidence, that a comfortable night's sleep IS achievable during all 3 trimesters of pregnancy!

The The Bettacare Comfy Sleep Pregnancy Cushion – Vanilla is available from the online nursery shop Hello Baby.  Hello Baby also sells a wide range of other baby and nursery stuff including Baby Toys, nursery furniture, baby travel and baby safety products.
